$1 million available to promote affordable housing
Requests for Proposals (RFP) are currently being accepted to promote the creation and preservation of affordable housing. Preference will be given to the contemplated target areas as specified by the newly approved City’s Strategic Plan for community development. Preference will also be given to those projects using green building techniques and energy saving components as well as those projects that use the facilities of the San Antonio Housing Trust Finance Corporation.
The San Antonio Housing Trust makes funds available to provide financial support to affordable housing developments and programs requiring a limited amount of additional resources.
RFPs should be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8 to:

Thanksgiving holidays’ schedule of City services
Garbage, recyclables and brush will not be collected on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28, while City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed to celebrate the Thanksgiving Day holidays.
Other City services will operate as follows:
- All libraries will be closed Thursday and Friday. - Downtown visitors will enjoy parking meter holidays Thursday and Friday. - Municipal Court, 401 S. Frio, will be closed Thursday and Friday. - Animal Care Services lobby, kennel and adoption center will be closed Thursday and Friday. - City Base, Las Palmas, McCreless, Oak Ridge Plaza and Valley View Community Link Service Centers will be closed Thursday and Friday. - South Park Mall Community Link Service Center will be closed Thursday and open Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. - Bitters Brush Recycling Center, 1800 Bitters Road, will be closed Thursday and Friday. - All municipal golf courses and facilities will be open Thursday and Friday. - Dead animal collection crews, animal care officers, and police, fire and EMS personnel will be on duty as usual. |
